THE MISSION OF BRONX ACADEMY OF PROMISE CHARTER SCHOOL IS TO EDUCATE EACH STUDENT TO HIGH LEARNING STANDARDS USING A CURRICULUM THAT EMPHASIZES INFORMATION ABOUT THE VARIOUS CAREER CHOICES AVAILABLE TO THEM. THE SCHOOL WILL PREPARE STUDENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL, TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT A DIRECTION FOR THEIR CAREER, AND TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS. THE SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE A PRODUCTIVE COMPREHENSIVE ACADEMIC CURRICULUM WITH CHARACTER AND CAREER EDUCATION INTEGRATED INTO ALL SUBJECTS. THE CURRICULUM WILL PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN ALL AREAS: COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT. STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE WAYS TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS EACH SCHOOL YEAR TO ATTAIN LEARNING PROFICIENCY, AND THE COMMUNITY, PARENTS AND STAFF WILL PARTICIPATE MEANINGFULLY IN THE SCHOOL TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE ITS POTENTIAL FOR SUCCESS.
TO INCREASE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS THROUGH INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND TO ENABLE PARENTS TO BE MORE INVOLVED IN THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION.
BRONX ACADEMY OF PROMISE (BAOP) HAS ALWAYS STRIVED TO EDUCATE THE WHOLE CHILD WHILE RAISING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN BOTH ELA AND MATH OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS. AS WE ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED, THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR WAS QUITE DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER ACADEMIC TERM. HOWEVER, BAOP CONTINUED TO REACH OUT TO EDUCATE THE WHOLE CHILD BY INTEGRATING NOT ONLY THE BASIC ELA AND MATH INSTRUCTION BUT ALSO OUR ELECTIVE COURSES, SUCH AS ART, MUSIC, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY. DAILY SYNCHRONOUS INSTRUCTION CONTINUED FROM MARCH TO JUNE WITH A FOCUS ON SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION TO MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF EACH STUDENT, EVEN DURING A PERIOD OF REMOTE LEARNING. IN ADDITION, THE SCHOOL'S DAILY ATTENDANCE RATE REMAINED AT OVER 95% THROUGHOUT THIS REMOTE LEARNING PERIOD DUE TO THE COMMITMENT OF ALL STAFF MEMBERS TO HELP SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AND CONTINUE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL.
