THE BRONX MUSEUM OF THE ARTS IS A CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM THAT CONNECTS DIVERSE AUDIENCES TO THE URBAN EXPERIENCE THROUGH ITS PERMANENT COLLECTION, SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS, EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES. ALL OF THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITIONS WERE ACCOMPANIED BY GALLERY TOURS, ARTIST TALKS, PERFORMANCES, AND FILM AND VIDEO SCREENINGS, AS WELL AS OTHER ONGOING PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDING BOOGIE ON THE BOULEVARD; LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION; STORYTELLING COMPETITIONS HOSTED BY THE MOTH; PEN WORLD VOICES FESTIVAL; TOURS OF THE GRAND CONCOURSE; BRONX MUSEUM HOLIDAY MARKET; SENIOR LUNCHEONS; AND ARTIST PROGRAMMING COLLABORATIONS. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2019, THE MUSEUM PRESENTED THE FOLLOWING EXHIBITIONS: MOSES ROS: LANDING/ ATERRIZAJE; IRAN: WOMEN ONLY; DIANA AI-HADID: DELIRIOUS MATTER; MANUEL MENDIVE: NATURE, SPIRIT, AND BODY; CHRISTOPHER K. HO: ALOHA TO THE WORLD AT THE DON HO TERRACE; ROCHELLE FEINSTEIN: IMAGE OF AN IMAGE; EDDIE MARTINEZ: WHITE OUTS; PETER CAMPUS: VIDEO ERGO SUM; USELESS: MACHINES FOR DREAMING THINKING AND SEEING.
ONGOING EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDED THE GROUP VISITS PROGRAM; FAMILY AFFAIR; TEEN SUMMER PROGRAM; SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS WITH PS 73 AND IS 218; AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS SUCH AS TEEN COUNCIL, THE CASA PROGRAM WITH PS 73, AND TEEN THURSDAYS. THROUGH THE CITY-WIDE ART A CATALYST FOR CHANGE ANTI-GUN VIOLENCE INITIATIVE, FOUR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS CONTINUED WITH LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS: I.S. 218, MS 301, MS 22, AND SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE HIGH SCHOOL.
