Dominicanos USA is a non-partisan, 501c3 organization that focuses on advancing the interests of the growing US Dominican community. DUSA seeks to be the roadmap for all people of Dominican descent to advance their
Voter Registration and Civic Education Dominicanos USA DUSA has organized voter registration drives since 2013, generating over 170,000 voter registration forms since that time. These drives have taken place on college campuses, community events, street fairs, primary and high schools, and naturalization swearing-in ceremonies. In addition, DUSA presents civic education workshops in partnership with colleges, high schools, community-based organizations, and other groups. We present a workshop discussing a brief history of voting in the US, some of the ways that the political system impacts citizens day-to-day lives, and the various ways that voting and political participation can impact the issues they care about. The purpose of these workshops is to educate participants on the importance of political participation for community empowerment and to share our knowledge and experience with community organizing and civic engagement.
