Graffiti 2 Community Ministries, Inc. (the "Organization") was incorporated on July5, 2007 and is a not-for-profit organization. The primary focus of the Organizationis to encourage physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, economic renewaland urban rehabilitation primarily in the South Bronx section of New York City.
Graffiti 2 seeks to provide social programs to children, youth, and families.
Workforce Development Program (G2 Works): One in five young adults in Mott Haven are considered idle. They are not in school and are not employed. Additionally, 20 percent of adults seeking work are unemployed, and there are thousands of first-generation adult immigrants. Seeing not only the needs of our neighbors but their great potential, Graffiti 2 Works coaches adults in developing the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual skills necessary to become the best they are capable of becoming.
Childrens Program (G2 Kids Afterschool and Summer): In a neighborhood where children are failing to meet education standards, Graffiti 2s elementary after school and summer programs focus on holistically developing all areas of the students life (physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual). In afterschool, children complete homework, have a snack, receive educational enrichment, read, and play games. In the summer children participate in sports activities, field trips, and enrichment experiences. Through all programs students are taught the value of respect and how to meet expectations that flow from respecting authority, others, yourself, and God.
Youth Program (GSALT and G2 Interns, Afterschool and Summer): In a neighborhood with over 12,000 students between the ages of 12 and 17 (Citizens Committee for Children of New York) Graffiti 2 is taking a first-hand role in revitalizing, reviving, and revolutionizing the lives of teenagers. The G. S. A. L. T. (Graffiti Serving and Leading Teenagers) program exists to provide tutoring, mentoring, positive peer-relationships, accountability, character development and Biblical foundations for youth grades 6 through 8. The G2 Internship program utilizes young adults in the community who are making positive, forward movement in their lifeeither in high school, college, or vocational training. Graffiti 2 Interns have a high-level of leadership within the after-school and summer program. They help teach behavior to students, assist with homework, and provide targeted tutoring to students in individualized or small-group settings
