To promote and articulate the interest of Ghanaians in the NY metropolitan area, Provide a forum for the advancement of the interest of Ghanaians in political, economic, social and cultural affairs, Establish and maintain good relations with other Ghanaian organizations pursuing objectives compatible with ours, Assist members both financially and morally in times of needs.
Yankasa Association of USA Inc leveraged its exempt status in mitigating the wrath of the global pandemic COVID-19. Nine of the members of the Yankasa community succumbed to the deadly virus. Through the power of volunteerism and the charitable donations and contribution of members, the organition provided burial services, moral, religious and finacial assistance to the bereaved families in their moment of profound sorrow. Additionally, Yankasa Association was awarded a grant of 25K by the Research Foundation of CUNY , as a Community Based Organization (CBO) the organization assisted in increasing the Direct Count of New York City residents during the NYC Census 2020 by engaging in community outreach activities utilizing digital / online engagenment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
