Organizations Filed Purposes: Asase Yaa strives to promote cultural values and aesthetics of Africa and the African Diaspora. Our activities and productions aim to highlight positive images of Africa, African diasporic and African-American cultures. We work endlessly to promote growth and to raise standards to the highest level in the performance of African dance and music.

Asase Yaa African-American Dance Theatre is a collection of artists dedicated to the promotion, maintenance and transmission of traditional African Cultural Sciences through our educational and entertaining programs.

THE ASASE YAA CHILDRENS ARTS CAMP is a performing arts program that teaches young artists dance, music, singing, drama and set building. AYCAC was developed to build character, unity, confidence in children while learning from some of the best professional artists in the city. This program is a place of family, fun, creativity, encouragement and education. Each year the children are able to express themselves by telling a story while incorporating art, dance, music and singing in an original muscial production each year. The program helps to form friendships beyond the program. It instills independence, confidence and develops leadership skills. By teaching children new dances and taking them on trips to places they have yet to experience, we develop a platform for for developing the younger citizens of our community and foster the brillance in them.

THE ASASE YAA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS is a program that teaches boys and girls from ages 3 to 18 an assortment of dance and drum skills. Through intensive study and technical training in various dance forms that include a variety of music like tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, and African, students become well versed in their genre over the course of a challenging, educational, and fun 37 week program delivered from October to June.

THE ASASE THEATER EDUCATION ART CULTURE AND HEALTH is an arts and education program designed for students within the City of New York public and charter school system. The curriculum is designed for students in kingergarten through 12th grade and features in-school instruction in the performing arts in the genres of ballet, tap,hip-hop musical theater, African drumming, modern dance, African Diasporic dance, martial arts and acting.
