Organizations Filed Purposes: To provide housing and educational assistance for at risk, motivated and educationally capable inner-city youth. These children are placed in a family environment that allows them to mature and succeed through guidance, education, financial support and encouragement.

Our Scholar's academic achievement made for another year of great academic success. Our senior class (15 scholars) for the sixth year in a row received 100% acceptance into four-year colleges and universities. In total, they earned 154 acceptances to 85 different schools and nearly 10 million dollars in college scholarships and grant. Colleges that Class of 2018 will be matriculating in the fall include Villanova University (2), Georgetown University (2), Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Skidmore College, University of Rochester, University of Buffalo, among others. Despite the challenges that our scholars have faced and continue to face in their lives, they consistently show the grit and determination to succeed. Their hard work, resilience, resolve, and accomplishments inspire us all, and we are grateful for the support of our donors, stakeholders, and community partners who share our belief that motivated youth can overcome significant barriers and develop their inherent talents when surrounded by strong relationships and opportunities for enrichment in an environment that empowers them and allows them to focus on their strengths. Snapshot of the Years Success:For the 6th year in a row, BHGH of NY scholar was either valedictorian or salutatorian of the school our girls attend. This years Salutatorian, Romaris Moquete, has matriculated at Goucher College. While our scholars made up only 11% of the graduating class, 50% of them placed in the top 10 students. Our girls were ranked #2, #3, #4, #6, and #7. 87% College Retention Rate (Class of 2015-Class of 2018). 58 collegians out of 67 are on track to graduate within 4 years. 100% of our 15 graduating scholars were accepted into 4-year colleges. Combined, they received 154 acceptances to 84 different schools. 93% had their full financial need met, 93% received full scholarships to one more collegeOur graduating class earned nearly 10 million dollars in grant and scholarship aid.
