Organizations Filed Purposes: TO EMPOWER CHILDREN, YOUTH, ADULTS AND FAMILIES TO OVERCOME THE OBSTACLES THEY FACE. TOGETHER WE PARTNER WITH OUR COMMUNITY TO ENSURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL TO ACCESS AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION, JOBS, SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING, QUALITY HEALTH CARE AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS. TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION, WE OFFER COMPREHENSIVE AND HOLISTIC SERVICES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION; YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS; FAMILY SERVICES; WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT; COMMUNITY LIVING AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS; HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS; SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND SHELTER; ADULT BASIC EDUCATION AND ESOL. WE ARE ON-CALL TO PROVIDE DISASTER RECOVERY CASE MANAGEMENT AND RELIEF SERVICES. BCS ALSO SEEKS TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE IMPACTS OF POVERTY. WITH A STAFF OF OVER 400 AND OVER 30 SITES AROUND THE BOROUGH, BCS SERVES 20,000 PEOPLE EVERY YEAR.

CHILDHOOD & FAMILY SERVICES CHILDHOOD & FAMILY SERVICES PROVIDES CENTER-BASED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INCLUDING HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START; ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND MEALS FOR BCS PROGRAMS SERVING CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES TO SUPPORT HEALTH AND WELLNESS; (CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O)

YOUTH & COMMUNITY YOUTH & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROVIDES LITERACY-RICH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS (LOCATED IN UNDERPERFORMING PUBLIC SCHOOLS); A TRANSFER HIGH SCHOOL SERVING OVER-AGE, UNDER-CREDITED YOUNG PEOPLE; A HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PREPARATION PROGRAM SERVING YOUNG PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCES; COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY CENTER PROGRAMS LOCATED IN FOUR PUBLIC HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS AND ONE PUBLIC SCHOOL.

AFTER-SCHOOL EDUCATION AFTER SCHOOL EDUCATION PROVIDES A TRANSFER HIGH SCHOOL SERVING OVER-AGE, UNDER-CREDITED YOUNG PEOPLE, AND A HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PREPARATION PROGRAM SERVING YOUNG PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCES. PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY CENTER PROGRAMS LOCATED IN FOUR PUBLIC HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS AND ONE PUBLIC SCHOOL. THESE PROGRAMS SERVE ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITIES SURROUNDING THE CENTERS.
