Organizations Filed Purposes: THE ORGANIZATION ENGAGES IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, BASE-BUILDING, ISSUE CAMPAIGNS, AND CONSTITUENCY MOBILIZATION TO ADVANCE A PRO-WORKER PRO-IMMIGRANT, RACIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE AGENDA.

CANVASS PROGRAM:CPDA'S CANVASS PROGRAM IS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO BUILDING A DUES-PAYING MEMBERSHIP BASE FOR AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS WORKING IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES AND COMMUNITIES OF COLOR THAT IS DEEPLY ENGAGED IN PUSHING FOR PROGRESSIVE LEGISLATION AND CREATING A POLITICAL LANDSCAPE THAT BENEFITS OUR AFFILIATES' MEMBERS. IN 2019, CPDA RAN SIX CANVASSES IN FIVE STATES TO HELP BUILD AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP.

HOSTED ORGANIZATIONS:THROUGH ITS HOSTED PROGRAM, CPDA HELPS NEW AND EMERGING SOCIAL JUSTICE AND ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS TO DEVELOP AND GROW BY PROVIDING A DIVERSITY OF SERVICES CONTEXTUALIZED FOR EACH HOSTED ORGANIZATION. SERVICES INCLUDE MENTORSHIP AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, ACCESS TO MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT AND FISCAL SPONSORSHIP. AS AN INCUBATOR, CPDA IS A CATALYST MECHANISM FOR LOCAL AND REGIONAL BASE BUILDING. OUR GOAL IS TO FOSTER A VIBRANT ADVOCACY COMMUNITY AND FUEL INNOVATION WITHIN THE SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCACY AND ORGANIZING SPACE. IN 2019, CPDA PROVIDED THESE SERVICES TO FOUR (4) 501(C)(4) PROJECTS, AND ASSISTED ALL FOUR PROJECTS IN ROLLING OFF TO OTHER HOSTING ENTITIES.

BASEBUILDING:CPDA'S BASEBUILDING PROGRAM PROVIDES DIRECT FIELD CAPACITY TO OUR AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS, HELPS THEM BUILD MEMBERSHIP AND LEADERSHIP IN COMMUNITIES MOST IMPACTED BY STRUCTURAL RACISM AND CAPITALISM. CPDA PROVIDES POLITICAL TRAININGS, DIRECT CAPACITY FOR MEMBER AQUISITION, TRAIN-THE-TRAINERS EXPERIENCES, AND DIRECT TRAINING TO GRASSROOTS LEADERS. IN 2019, CPDA'S BASEBUILDING PROGRAM ORGANIZED AND LED A NATIONAL PEOPLE'S CONVENTION WHICH BROUGHT TOGETHER 1,400 STAFF AND AFFILIATE MEMBER LEADERS ALONG WITH 400 ELECTED OFFICIALS TO TRAIN, ORGANIZE, AND LAY THE GROUNDWORK TO ACTUALIZE OUR STRATEGIC PLAN AND CREATE A FEDERAL PLATFORM THAT FOCUSED ON BUILDING A PEOPLE-POWERED INCLUSIVE DEMOCRACY, TRANSFORMING OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM, SECURING HUMAN RIGHTS FOR IMMIGRANTS, RE-ALLOCATING WEALTH AND ECONOMIC POWER, AND GUARANTEEING CRITICAL SOCIAL GOODS.
