Organizations Filed Purposes: FOCH is a leading provider of high-quality, subsidized child care, early childhood education and Universal Pre-K programs, afterschool and family support services in the City of New York. FOCH currently serves a combined population of over 2000 children enrolled in over 20 service centers.

FOCH is currently the single largest contracted provider of subsidized child care and early childhood under the New York City Early Learn Program. We currently operate 20 fully funded Early Learn Centers in Brooklyn, Manattan and Staten Island, serving a combined enrollment of 1,934 children in our pre-school and infant/toddler programs, of whom 117 are also federally funded Head Start participants. Our Early Learn child -care and pre-school programs provide year round , center-based service of up to 10 hours per day for children aged three months to four years old. All programs are licensed by New York City Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene DOHMH, and staffed by certified, multi-lingual teachers and providers implementing a multicultural curriculum. All children receive a developmentally appropriate education. free daily nutritious meals and snacks prepared on site , and access to community resources such as dental and medical screenings.Our programs also include a robust family engagement component through which families are empowered to participate fully in their childrens educ

CACFP Family Care Network Under contract with the State of New York, FOCH also administers the Child and Adult Care Program CACFP- a nutriton education and meal reimbursement program enabling some 400 independent providers 25-65 years old in our Family Child Care Network to serve nutritious and safely prepared meals and snacks to children under their care. All meals served by the participating providers must meet minimum guidelines set by the U.S. Dept of Agriculture USDA. Serving nutritious meals helps improve and maintain the health and nutritional status of children in day care and can help young children develop good eating habits. FOCH delivers the technical support and administrative oversight required to ensure that providers in the network meet the federally mandated nutritional standards of the program and obtain appropriate reimbursement for expenses incurred.

Department of Education UPK/Pre-K for All In addition to our Early Learn program, FOCH is also a contracted provider of Universal Pre-K 3K services for eligible four 3 year olds. We currently operate at seven sites in the Crown Heights, Flatbush and East New York sections of Brooklyn. The vision of our UPK 3K program is to ensure that all children develop the necessary foundation for lifelong learning., self-confidence, creativity and social-emotional development. Utilizing the Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold, which aligns with the New York State Prekindergarten Foundation for Common Core, our program employs multi-sensory and multi-cultural approaches to maximizing the learning opportunities for all children and facilitate their acquisition of age-appropriate cognitive, linguistic, gross/fine motor, social-emotional and self-help skills. Our program also promotes the foundational importance of parental and family engagement in the successful education of every child, and is closely aligned with the unique interests and needs of the communities we serve.
