GHH strives to bring faith, hope and healing to those who are hurting morally, spiritually and economically. It aims to aid people in need, to provide restoration in the lives of individuals who were affected by wars, displacement, genocide, poverty, hunger or natural disasters.
Help children to access education in Rwanda To reduce school drop-out and increase access to basic education in Nyaruguru, Karongi and Rubavu districts. This program aims to identify children at risk, those who do not attend school because of extreme poverty or other extenuating circumstances. GHH organizes after-school and feeding programs and provides identified children at risk with school supplies, tuition and uniform. This program ran only one semester, it was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Child Protection and Improvement of Children's School Readiness through Early Childhood Development (ECD)in Rwanda GHH provides child protection and ECD services to 2-3-year old children in Kiziba refugee camp. GHH also helps to improve school readiness for 4-6-year old children in Karongi, Nyaruguru and Rubavu districts. Even though all of these activities were halted after the first quarter implementing the covid-19 preventive measures, during the lockdown, the program was redirected to the distance learning.
Family Promotion in Rwanda The implementation of lockdown measures has placed a major distress on the Rwanda's food value-chains. During the stay home period, GHH helped the poor families cope with the economic impact of covid-19 pandemic especially those surviving on daily wages from informal sector employment, as without work they were unable to feed themselves and their families. GHH provided people in Karongi, Rubavu and Nyaruguru districts with food (beans, rice, corn flour, sugar, salt, cooking oil) and helped them contain the spread of coronavirus providing them with face masks, hand sanitizers' and soap.
