JCCA PROVIDES AN EXTENSIVE ARRAY OF CHILD WELFARE (FOSTER CARE, RESIDENTIAL, CARE MANAGEMENT, TREATMENT, PREVENTIVE SERVICES), MENTAL HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND YOUTH AND FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES A FAMILY-CENTERED, STRENGTHS-BASED, DATA-INFORMED APPROACH HAS BEEN AT THE CORE OF THE AGENCY'S PRACTICE FOR MANY YEARS.
JCCA HELPS ABUSED, NEGLECTED AND TRAUMATIZED CHILDREN HEAL PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY THROUGH COMPASSIONATE, QUALITY CARE.
CHILD WELFARE SERVICES FOSTER HOME SERVICES - THERE WERE 219 ADMISSIONS, 135 SUCCESSFUL DISCHARGES TO BIRTH PARENTS OR KINSHIP HOMES AND 17 ADOPTIONS.CAMPUS SERVICES - A MARKED DECREASE IN AWOL AND OTHER INCIDENTS. LENGTH OF STAY WAS CONSISTENT WITH PRIOR YEAR.CFTSS - 658 YOUTHS WERE ENROLLED. 42% OF THE CHILDREN WERE ENROLLED IN PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION AND COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC SUPPORT SERVICES.HCBS -113 YOUTHS WERE ENROLLED, WITH A LOW DISENROLLMENT PERCENTAGE.
MENTAL HEALTH AND PREVENTIVE SERVICES - 874 FAMILIES WERE SERVED AND 467 CASES WERE CLOSED, WITH 97.8% AVOIDING FOSTER CARE PLACEMENT. HEALTH HOMES - MAINTAINED AN AVERAGE OF 977 ELIGIBLE MEMBERS, WITH AVERAGE MONTHLY INTAKE OF 9 MEMBERS.SECOND CHANCES - SERVED 51 CLIENTS. 25 CLIENTS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE PROGRAM.BROOKLYN FAMILIES TOGETHER - 93 UNDUPLICATED CLIENTS SERVED. 86 CASES COMPLETED, PROGRAM STAFF MADE 847 CLIENT CONTACTS.
EDUCATION & SINGULAR LEAP PROGRAMFAIR FUTURES WAS ABLE TO ASSIGN 65 YOUTHS TO COACH. 132 YOUTHS WHO WERE NOT COACHED RECEIVED ACADEMIC AND CARE SERVICES FROM SPECIALISTSA AND OTHER STAFF. CITY'S FIRST READERS SERVED 222 CHILDREN AGES 0-5 IN THE FOURTH QUARTER OF FY 2020. THE PROGRAM ALSO WORKED WITH 120 PARENTS/FOSTER PARENTS THROUGH READING ACTIVITIES AND TRAINING.WWP PINKERTON REPORTED 13 YOUTHS COMPLETING THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, AND ONLY ONE YOUTH PARTICIPATING WITHOUT COMPLETION. POST PROGRAM, 8 YOUTHS ENROLLED IN SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM, 3 YOUTHS RE-ENROLLED IN EDUCATION, WHILE 8 CONTINUED WITH THEIR EDUCATION.
