Kiddie Science is a Brooklyn based nonprofit organization aimed at presented engaging, hands-on science workshops to young children and families. Due to the Covid pandemic, the way we closed our physical doors and transitioned to online learning in order to continue to fulfill our mission. We work with age 2 and up to make science a fun and tangible experience for all.
Kiddie Science is a Brooklyn based nonprofit organization aimed at presented engaging, hands-on science workshops to young children and families. We work with NYC public schools, community organizations, private groups, and more. It is our goal to make science accessible to underserved and low-income populations in school districts that lack proper resources for hands-on science exploration. We work with age 2 and up to make science a fun and tangible experience for all.
During 2020, we engaged the local community by providing free science mini kits with related resources to continue engaging young scientists despite our physical doors being closed.
We engaged 376 families in hands-on online learning via Zoom for four to six-week immersive topic exploration. We focused on engineering, botany, ornithology, chemistry, and much more.
Engaged with families online via live and pre-recorded lessons that engaged age 2 and up in nature-based learning. Nature In The City included hands-on materials via a kit. Supermarket Science utilized items already found at home for a hands-on exploration of chemistry.
