501(c)3 WR Arts is here to provide an open, supportive artistic environment to those looking to cultivate a lasting relationship with Dance and the Performing Arts. We strive to find ways to blend North Brooklyn's culturally diverse neighborhoods together under one roof to build a stronger community together through the arts. With our "In School" on-site after school enrichment programing and our 6 days a week "Home Base" General Children's and Pre-Professional training at 573 Metropolitan Avenue, we connect ALL to the arts experience. Through our "In School" program WR brings a professional studio atmosphere into classroom spaces at an introductory level. To further the interest and training of those looking for more, WR has a "Home Base", with reduced rate community classes and scholarship opportunities for participation in our General and Pre-Professional programing. Fall of 2019 saw an expansion of programing in our InSchool program. WR Arts began offering extended programing hours at PS 31 lengthening our available care to 6PM, and an expansion in programing days at PS 110 and PS 34, from 2 days to 5.2019 saw a small growth in our community class low- no cost class options for children and adults at our 573 Metropolitan Ave location. With this turnout, we successfully ran a 12 week low - No cost Boys Dance program to encourage Ballet & Tap as Performing Arts avenues for boys to explore, in a Female dominated art form.
