Organizations Filed Purposes:
To create and produce new, experimental performances for theater that are written and directed by Young Jean Lee in collaboration with company members from diverse backgrounds. We make shows that deal with uncomfortable major issues such as race and religion in such hilariously disorienting ways that they stick in people's minds and challenge them to think rather than shutting them down or reaffirming their pre-existing beliefs.
STRAIGHT WHITE MEN had productions in Ann Arbor and Los Angeles. UNTITLED FEMINIST SHOW also toured to Ann Arbor. WERE GONNA DIE was performed with David Byrne in London. A new project was conceived and researched. A research trip was taken to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. An archival website was made with extensive information about the companys work, including photos and videos of the shows.
