Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Clean Air Coalition builds power by developing grassroots leaders who organize their communities to run and win environmental justice and public health campaigns in Western New York.
Clean Air provides fiscal sponsorship to Black Love Resists in the Rust (BLRR). BLRR, works with community members to redefine safety and reimagine security. In 2019, over 20 community members were engaged in building a Community Safety Zone.
Leadership Development: Throughout the year, Clean Air engaged over 200 people in fun, hands on workshops and training that focused on developing the tools in base building, media strategy, economic analysis, grassroots fundraising, and environmental justice education.
Just Transition: Clean Air organized for racial equity in the solar manufacturing and renewable energy sector. Clean Air also continues to lead a regional economic transition, in the wake of the Huntley coal plant closure in a way that takes care of jobs, tax revenue and the environment.
