Honor Flight Buffalo's mission is to fly American's Veterans at no charge to Washington, DC to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices. Currently, Honor Flight Buffalo is flying World War II Veterans.
Honor Flight Buffalo escorted Western New York and Erie, Pennsylvania World War II Veterans to Washington, DC free of charge on two separate flight trips. The flights were May 30,2015 and October 24, 2015. For the May 30, 2015 flight, we chartered an airplane from Southwest Airlines which increased travel costs for better scheduling of departure and arrival. An additional bus was also added. For the Veterans traveling from Pennsylvania we paid for their expenses to depart from Buffalo. Due to the number of participants on our May 30, 2015 the flight dinner was held at a local hotel banquet room increasing meal costs.
