Organizations Filed Purposes:
Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund, Inc. was formed for the purpose of undermining white support for white supremacy and to help build a racially just society by providing organizing resources led by people of color, and maintaining strong accountability relationships with organizers and communities of color as a central part of the Organization's theory of change.
Divest/Invest organizing - SURJ Education Fund supported a number of programs that support divesting resources from harmful systems of punishment and community safety and investing in alternative systems. These programs included supporting a network of local groups and individuals, a faith program, and disability and access program. SURJ Education Fund supported local groups across the country through coaching, training and education. SURJ Education Fund's faith program produced a weekly podcast and its disability program began bringing together people with disabilities to learn and take action.
Southern Crossroads - SURJ Education Fund launched a program called Southern Crossroads to support organizing projects in small towns and rural communities across the South. Southern Crossroads provided leadership development, education and supported door knocking in communities to grow the base of people who are engaged on racial and economic justice issues in the region.
