The Thomas Cole Historic House is open to the public from March through November. Approximately 15,000 members of the general public visited and toured the facility. In addition, approximately 300 school children toured the facility and participated in art-related programs. Six educational programs were conducted with nationally known speakers presenting material related to Thomas Cole and the Hudson River School of Painting. Educational material was made available through the website and Museum Store. Four fellows participated in educational research developing papers and documents on subjects related to the Cole House and Hudson River School.
