EPIC WILL ENSURE THAT PEOPLE WITH SEIZURES, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL LIFE EXPERIENCES; AND WILL PREVENT, CONTROL AND CURE EPILEPSY THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND SERVICES.
TO ENRICH PEOPLES LIVES THROUGH A BROAD RANGE OF SERVICES, & AN UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE.
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS - THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPERVISED GROUP LIVING FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. EACH PERSON IN THE PROGRAM HAS A PLAN, WHICH IS DEVELOPED BY THE INDIVIDUAL RECEIVING SERVICES AND HIS/HER ADVOCATES. PERSONAL VALUES AND GOALS ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE PLAN, AS WELL AS INCLUSION IN THE COMMUNITY. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES 24 HOUR SUPERVISED CARE. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 142 ADULTS IN 2019 IN OUR RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM.
DAY PROGRAMS - EPIC OPERATES A DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM, AND AN ON-SITE RESPITE PROGRAM. THESE PROGRAMS HELP PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, DEVELOP INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS AND SOCIAL BEHAVIOR. THE DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM IS A PERSON CENTERED PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS 21 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER. THE RESPITE PROGRAM PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO PARTICIPATE IN A RECREATION PROGRAM AND ALLOW THEIR FAMILIES SOME TIME OFF FROM CARE-GIVING. WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE DAY HABILITATION SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 142 INDIVIDUALS AND RESPITE SERVICES TO 15 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019.
CLINIC PROGRAMS - THE SPECIALTY CLINIC PROVIDES SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO IMPROVE OR MAINTAIN THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES. THE SERVICES ARE OF A HABILITATIVE CLINICAL NATURE TO AMELIORATE OR TO LIMIT THE DISABLING CONDITION IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE SETTING. WE PROVIDE PSYCHIATRIC AND SOCIAL WORK EVALUATIONS AND PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL AND SPEECH THERAPY. WE ALSO PROVIDE NEUROLOGICAL AND NUTRITIONAL CARE. IN 2019, WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 1,500 PEOPLE TO ENABLE THEM TO ENHANCE AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES AND TO HELP THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES IN COPING WITH EPILEPSY AND OTHER DISABILITIES. WE ALSO PROVIDE SUPPORT GROUPS FOR PARENTS, PROFESSIONALS, CHILDREN, TEENS, ADULTS AND A SOCIAL CLUB. WE ALSO PROVIDE A SUPPORT GROUP FOR PEOPLE WHO SPEAK SPANISH AND A YOUTH COUNCIL FOR YOUNG ADULTS DEALING WITH SEIZURES. WE PROVIDE INFORMATION AND REFERRALS TO PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE AND INFORMATION FOR MEDICATION, PHYSICIANS, INTERPERSONAL, MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND GENERAL SUPPORT GROUPS. THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR THESE GROUPS.
