Organizations Filed Purposes:
Service American military veterans. Allow a meeting place for vets and support veteran rights.
This is an American military veterans organization. We support all US veterans and returning troops. As part of our support, we engage in youth activities and American Legion projects. Our community activity revolves around veteran issues and pride.
Income Expenses are for various activities promoting US Veterans.
The Post gives scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors. The Post also sponsors students that wish to attend the American Legion Boys State Program. During this week, the students learn about government, passing laws and running a body such as a town board, etc. The total cost for this fiscal year was 3,150. The Post received 900 in donations for Boys State from various donors including the Kiwanis Club and Sunrise Rotary.
The Post sponsors two teams for summer baseball and also sponsors an American Legion travel baseball team. The teams are comprised of youth from the Hamburg, NY area. The only team that has tryouts is the travel team.
