INSTRUCTION:UNDERGRADUATE RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION: HOUGHTON COLLEGE PROVIDES AN ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGING CHRIST-CENTERED EDUCATION IN THE LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES TO APPROXIMATELY 1,000 TRADITIONAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN A RURAL, RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS SETTING. OVER 70 MAJORS IN THE LIBERAL ARTS, NATURAL SCIENCES, AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL DEGREES ARE OFFERED. HOUGHTON FOCUSES ON PROVIDING STUDENTS OUTSTANDING EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES BOTH IN AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM. GRADUATES OF HOUGHTON COLLEGE ARE EQUIPPED TO LEAD AND LABOR AS SCHOLAR SERVANTS IN A CHANGING WORLD.ONLINE EDUCATION: HOUGHTON COLLEGE PROVIDES AN ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGING CHRIST-CENTERED EDUCATION IN THE LIBERAL ARTS TO A DIVERSE STUDENT BODY FROM AROUND THE WORLD THROUGH ITS ONLINE COURSES. LEARNERS ARE OFFERED OPTIONS TO TAKE 1-2 COURSES IN 8-WEEK TERMS, WITH THE FLEXIBILITY TO EARN A DEGREE AT WHATEVER PACE THE STUDENT REQUIRES. HOUGHTON ONLINE STUDENTS THRIVE IN SMALL, PERSONAL ONLINE CLASSES DESIGNED TO FACILITATE CONNECTING QUICKLY WITH PROFESSORS AND PEERS. STUDENTS ENJOY EXPERIENTIAL, PRACTITIONER-BASED LEARNING IN A DIVERSE, SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY.LOCATION-BASED EDUCATION FOR MARGINALIZED PEOPLES: AS HOUGHTON COLLEGE SEEKS TO FULFILL ITS MISSION TO PROVIDE EDUCATION TO STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ECONOMIC BACKGROUND, OFFSITE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED TO MEET THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF REFUGEES, IMMIGRANTS, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED PEOPLES IN REGIONAL NEW YORK CITIES. THIS INNOVATIVE PROGRAM OFFERS A TWO-YEAR ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE IN A COHORT MODEL SUPPLEMENTED WITH TUTORING, WHILE FOCUSING ON LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL COMPETENCIES, AS WELL AS JOB PREPARATION. WITH AN 80% ON-TIME GRADUATION RATE AND A 100% POST-GRADUATION PLACEMENT RATE IN A CAREER OR FOUR-YEAR DEGREE PROGRAM, THIS TAILORED APPROACH PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED AND THOSE WHO QUALIFY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE THEIR TWO-YEAR DEGREE WITH NO EDUCATIONAL DEBT.
