TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE ARRAY OF ADVOCACY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR THE MENTALLY DISABLED RESIDING THROUGHOUT WARREN AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES IN NEW YORK STATE.
THE MISSION OF THE WARREN-WASHINGTON ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS AND PROMOTE THE AWARENESS AND IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL WELL BEING IN THE COMMUNITY. PRINCIPLES: WE WILL OPERATE IN A CLIENT-CENTERED MANNER, WITH RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHTS TO SELF DETERMINATION AND SELF EXPRESSION. WE WILL TREAT INDIVIDUALS WITH RESPECT AND RECOGNITION OF THEIR HUMAN DIGNITY. WE WILL STRIVE TO DISMANTLE BARRIERS BETWEEN PROVIDERS AND RECIPIENTS OF SERVICES. WE BELIEVE IN THE ABILITY OF INDIVIDUALS TO IMPROVE AND GROW WHEN POSITIVE CONDITIONS FOR GROWTH ARE CREATED. WE WILL WORK IN ACTIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH RECIPIENTS OF SERVICE AS WELL AS WITH FAMILIES AND OTHER AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS. WE WILL PROVIDE SERVICES AND DEVELOP ENVIRONMENTS THAT HELP MEDIATE STRESS AND REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF PSYCHIATRIC CRISIS AND NEED FOR HOSPITALIZATION BY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH MEANINGFUL TREATMENT.
COMMUNITY RESIDENCE - PROGRAMS WHICH ARE GROUP HOMES AND APARTMENTS WITHIN WARREN AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES WHERE INDIVIDUALS WITH PSYCHIATRIC DISABILITIES LIVE WHILE DEVELOPING SKILLS NEEDED FOR INDEPENDENCE. EACH PROGRAM OFFERS DIFFERENT LEVELS OF SUPPORT TOWARD A PERSON'S EFFORT TO ACHIEVE WELL-BEING. SERVICES PROMOTE A PERSON'S CAPABILITIES THROUGH COMPANIONSHIP, EDUCATION, COUNSELING, VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND RESPITE; THEY REDUCE COSTLY HOSPITALIZATIONS BY PROVIDING CARING AND SKILLED INTERVENTION IN TIMES OF CRISIS. PROGRAM SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE 18 YEARS OR OLDER WITH THE DURATION OF STAY BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL. APPROXIMATELY 60 INDIVIDUALS SERVED PER MONTH.
CLINICAL SERVICES - ADULT PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM WHICH SUPPORTS PERSONAL GROWTH IN VARIOUS AREAS OF LIFE. WELL-BEING AND REHABILITATION ARE FOSTERED THROUGH VOCATIONAL AND PRE-VOCATIONAL. PROGRAMS, SUPPORTIVE COUNSELING, RECREATION AND SOCIALIZATION ACTIVITIES, EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND HEALTH WORKSHOPS. APPROXIMATELY 479 SERVED PER MONTH
COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES - UNIFIES THE MENTAL HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SYSTEM BY CONNECTING INDIVIDUALS TO SPECIFIC SERVICES TO THEIR NEEDS. SUPPORT IS TAILOR-MADE, MATCHING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS TO EACH INDIVIDUAL. APPROXIMATELY 548 SERVED PER MONTH
