Organizations Filed Purposes: Rise Up Kingston is a grassroots organization led by those experiencing racism, classism, and gender oppression on a daily basis. We organize to win, with our collective power, a Kingston economy that meets all of our social and environmental needs.

Building economies with the goal of dismantling structures of institutional racism and oppression.

Outreach: Rise Up Kingston developed an outreach team that does Phone Banking and Door Knocking twice a week. The teams were supporting the work of the organizing campaigns by calling or knocking on the doors of community members about important events and actions they could take. This program is supported by contributions.

Criminal Justice: The Criminal Justice Committee continued meetings monthly to advance the criminal justice campaign. The committee developed a sign on letter, organized a Police Accountability Rally, and held a Forum to educate the community on the campaign. The committee developed materials to share with the public. This program is supported by contributions.

Housing: The committee has developed a Platform for Housing Justice in Kingston within the city of Kingston. The platform covers many of the issues that tenants are experiencing in our city, and across the state. The committee hopes to achieve these goals through inside and outside strategy: Establish a healthy homes standard of living, protect tenants, inspection checklists for rentals, and stop AirBnB from taking our housing stock. As part of our strategy to educate the community on the issues of housing, we debuted a short film on housing in collaboration with Survival Media Co. - Housing: A Human Right featured stories from two Rise Up Kingston Members. This program is supported by contributions.
