Wine and Dine Wine Pairing Dinner Our annual Wine and Dine dinner started off the year as our first event to occur in 2019. 86 attendees were served a delicious four course dinner paired with wine from Tim Sweeney, a local wine expert and owner of Stone Ridge Wine & Spirits. Our agencys Day Habilitation Wall Street Program, Green Thumbs Planet Shop, provided us with beautiful, one of a kind plant arrangements for center pieces. These arrangements were sold at the end of the night to the guests. After guests indulged in fabulous food and wine they were introduced to the Wine & Dine Chairperson, Bob Siracusano. Bob came back as our chairman and live auctioneer, and he engaged with the audience to encourage them to bid high on five extravagant live auction items. Winners walked away with prizes such as a golfers package, wine rack full of wine, wine paired with a catered dinner, a case of wines from around the world, and a case of local spirits. A special raffle was held as well, with 7 different prizes for guests to win. After the live auction, Bob held a special presentation to present the idea of funding a memorial garden gazebo for one of our homes. Response to this was overwhelming. We hope to continue expanding this event and to continue bringing in a high number of guests. This event helps to increase community awareness and raise funds to support The Arc of Ulster-Greenes mission of offering people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities opportunities to experience and live a full life. Humanitarian Dinner / Ad Journal This year marked the 38th annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner held at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York. Awards were presented to various people for their role as humanitarians, in supporting and promoting the mission of The Arc of Ulster-Greene. Attendees came together to honor and applaud the following Humanitarian recipients: The Bank of Greene County, as Humanitarian of the Year; Frank Guidos Little Italy, the Heart of Gold award winner; Ashley Devine, the Personal Achievement Award winner; Tracy Coddington, the Employee-of-the-Year; Kelly Fracasse, Jack Deyo Award winners; and Marshalls, Kingston, as Employer of the Year. Each of the award recipients spoke about their connection to The Arc of Ulster-Greene. The message was consistent: working with The Arc of Ulster-Greene is not only good for them; it is good for the community. Supporting people with developmental disabilities and helping them live full and meaningful lives benefits everyone. A byproduct of this event is the Humanitarian Awards Dinner Ad Journal. The Ad Journal provides a timeline for the event, and displays an array of advertisements from area businesses and honoree supporters. With more advertisements than in previous years, it demonstrations how the community continues to embraces The Arc of Ulster-Greene and its mission. Roy A. Gonyea, Jr. Fall Golf Classic While the tournament technically occurs in late summer, the golfers in the 2019 Fall Golf Classic were welcomed to Wiltwyck Golf Club with warm autumn temperatures and a beautiful sunny day. To ensure that each of the participants partaking in the fundraising event were knowledgeable about The Arc Mid-Hudsons mission and work, poignant yet fun reminders were infused into the event. Mission Markers gave golfers a chance to learn a bit more about the people who are supported by The Mid-Hudson and how their lives have been enhanced as a result of the mission of the agency. The top three foursomes each took home handcrafted mementos that were generously donated by artists supported by The Arc Mid-Hudson. These uniquely handcrafted mementos included whimsical mounted clay monster statues for first place, original art for second place and framed prints of original artwork for third place. Various fun and engaging themed tee holes, breakfast, BBQ lunch, and a buffet dinner rounded out this ultimate scramble experience. Holiday Auction As the holidays approach, in the midst of everyone prepping for the holidays, the final and grandest event of 2019 took place. The Arc Mid-Hudsons Holiday Auction fundraiser is a widely anticipated occasion, which was held at the glamorous Chateau in Kingston, New York. The theme was a whimsical Santa hat and bells surrounded by lights and garland. The Foundations Chairperson, Cheryl Hobart, warmly greeted 192 guests as the melodic sounds of a live performer permeated in the background. In addition to the delectable hors doeuvre and dinner, the event featured a grand array of 196 Silent Auction prizes, 15 Live Auction prizes, 20 Fisherman Raffle prizes, Live Auction Raffle, and highly anticipated Wine Pull. The success of the event ensures the ability to assists in fulfilling the goals, dreams, and life aspirations of people supported by The Arc Mid-Hudson.
