Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Double H Ranch provides specialized year-round programs for children and families who are dealing with life-threatening or chronic illnesses. All programs are free of charge and now include hospital outreach programs that are conducted with our hospital partners.
FACILITIES/MANAGEMENT - INCLUDES THE MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE FACILITIES IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE CHILDREN PARTICIPATING AT THE RANCH. THIS YEAR, THE FACILITY HELD PROGRAMS TO 2,057 CAMPERS, PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND SIBLINGS OF THE CAMPERS. ADDITIONALLY, THE FACILITIES TEAM COMMENCED A LARGE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHICH INCLUDED THE COMPLETE REHAB OF A CAMPER RESIDENTAL BUILDING.
ACTIVITIES - IN 2020, THE DOUBLE H RANCH PROVIDED AN ADAPTIVE WINTER SPORTS PROGRAM ON-SITE AND THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR INCLUDED VIRTUAL AND ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WHO ARE DEALING WITH LIFE-THREATENING OR CHRONIC ILLNESSES. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 1,107 IN PERSON PARTICIPANTS SERVED AND 950 PARTICIPANTS SERVED IN ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING. IN PERSON VOLUNTEERS TOTALED 417 AND 141 ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING VOLUNTEERS.
WINTER PROGRAM - THE DOUBLE H RANCH OPERATES A UNIQUE ADAPTIVE WINTER SPORTS PROGRAM ON-SITE FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-16 WITH LIFE THREATENING AND CHRONIC ILLNESSES. THERE ARE 4 WINTER RESIDENTIAL WEEKEND PROGRAMS FOR FAMILIES. LESSONS ARE CONDUCTED EVERY WEEKEND FROM JANUARY THROUGH MARCH. THIS YEAR, THE WINTER PROGRAM PROVIDED 1,107 LESSONS TO STUDENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS OVER 21 DIFFERENT LESSON DAYS. THIS PROGRAM DREW OVER 350 STUDENT APPLICATIONS THIS YEAR. 270 VOLUNTEER SKI/SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS, NATIONAL SKI PATROL AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS HELPED TO MAKE THIS PROGRAM POSSIBLE.
