Organizations Filed Purposes:
UD Team Charter Schools use an innovative sports, health, and fitness curriculum to develop students into healthy, successful adults who are economically, socially, and emotionally independent. Our educational model energizes, educates and empowers young people in a safe, positive environment of high expectations and shared responsibility. UD Team serves a specific population of students - young people who are behind in credits, have few educational options and are in great need of services and positive engagement. UD Team schools are located in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn, and the Melrose neighborhood of the Bronx.
UDTCS demonstrated resiliency and responsiveness in FY 2020 as the pandemic hit. Our educators quickly developed remote learning platforms for students to obtain their academic classes online, and over 90% of UD students remained engaged.Organizationally, we provided direct aid to students and families in the form of 206 laptops/Chromebooks and 27 Wi-Fi hotspots to aid our students with remote learning.44 students earned their high school diploma from UD Team Brooklyn in 2020.In the year ahead, we look forward to our first graduating class of students from UD Team II Bronx.
