The LIA provides its members with important and timely information related to the economy, demographics, government and the regions elected officials. LIA staff prepares and analyzes data for monthly economic reports, numerous studies from the LIA Research Institute and a biennial fact book. Additionally, the LIA provides frequent legislative updates to its members and issues an annual Public Officials Guide that offers businesses a comprehensive list of Long Islands elected officials and their contact information.

The LIA hosts events throughout the year starting off in January with its annual County Executives Breakfast where local officials from Nassau and Suffolk counties address the LIA membership. The LIA Annual Awards Gala honors the people and the companies that have made Long Island a better place to live and work. The LIA luncheons showcase renowned speakers, providing the membership with insights into local, national and world events.
