PKNYC focuses primarily on homeless and abandoned street cats, kittens, dogs & puppies. In addition, PKNYC practices Trap-Neuter-Return to help combat the growing population of feral cats in the tri-state NYC area.
To provide rescue services to cats, dogs & other small animals that are sick, injured and/or homeless.
In 2020, PKNYC rescued 922 cats, dogs, and other small animals, providing spay/neuter services, proper medical attention and foster care. PKNYC processed 644 adoptions (12 dogs, 228 adult cats and 404 kittens) and received $79,671 in adoption fees and $600 in surrender fees. Another 157 cats were trapped, spayed/neutered and released. Thirty-seven cats entered the barn cat program for which PKNYC collected $2,085 in fees. Additionally, the Animal Control Center of NY paid PKNYC $1,350 in stipends for animals rescued from the ACC's shelters.
