TODAY, THE INSTITUTE'S UNIQUE RESTORATIVE THERAPY PROGRAM, REFLECTING THE LIFESTYLE DESIRED BY TODAY'S SENIORS, PROMOTES INDEPENDENCE AND RAPID RETURN TO HOME AFTER REHABILITATION FROM THE BROAD RANGE OF SURGICAL PROCEDURES, STROKE, AMPUTATION, INJURIES AND ILLNESS. PROVIDES LONG TERM CARE AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES FOR THOSE UNABLE TO RETURN HOME SAFELY.THE SUB-ACUTE REHABILITATION PROGRAM OFFERS STATE-OF-THE-ART REHABILITATION AND CLINICALLY COMPLEX CARE IN A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT. DISTINGUISHED IN PATIENT CARE, RESEARCH AND TEACHING, THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT INCLUDES PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS AS WELL AS SPECIALISTS AND A COMPLETE ROSTER OF CONSULTANTS.WE OFFER FAVORABLE NURSE TO PATIENT STAFFING RATIOS, AND A NURSING STAFF EXPERIENCED IN CARING FOR COMPLEX MEDICAL AND POST-SURGICAL NEEDS THAT MAY INCLUDE PNEUMONIA, CORONARY BYPASS SURGERY, CARDIO-THORACIC SURGERY, OR VASCULAR SURGERY. THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPS INDIVIDUALIZED CARE PLANS FOR EACH RESIDENT, AND INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAMS REGULARLY REVIEW PROGRESS. RESIDENTS AT PARKER ENJOY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME THAT OFFERS ADVANCED CARE AND TRADITIONAL CARING.THE MEDICAL STAFF AT PARKER IS ONE OF THE LARGEST, MOST HIGHLY TRAINED OF ANY SIMILAR FACILITY IN THE COUNTRY. IN 2019, APPROXIMATELY 181,848 DAYS OF CARE WERE PROVIDED TO 1,988 PEOPLE.RESIDENTS ARE CARED FOR BY "THE PARKER NURSE" - A SPECIAL PROFESSIONAL WHO REFLECTS THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF SKILL AND COMPASSION, AND REGULARLY TAKES PART IN TRAINING TO ADVANCE SKILLS AND UPDATE KNOWLEDGE. UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF PATIENT CARE SERVICES, NURSE MANAGERS HAVE 24-HOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ASPECTS OF RESIDENT CARE. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE SINCE 1985.CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH CARE SERVICES ARE INTERMITTENT SKILLED CARE, PROVIDED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MD ORDERS. HOME HEALTH CARE SERVICES ARE COORDINATED WITH INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM MEMBERS TO ENSURE THE MOST EFFICIENT PLAN FOR THE PATIENTS' SAFE TRANSITION AND STAY IN THE COMMUNITY.PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PROGRAM RECEIVE INDIVIDUALIZED NURSING, MEDICAL AND REHABILITATION SERVICES THAT ALLOW THEM TO MAINTAIN MAXIMUM INDEPENDENCE AND REMAIN IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOMES.OUR CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AGENCY IS LICENSED IN BROOKLYN, BRONX, QUEENS, NASSAU, SUFFOLK AND WESTCHESTER COUNTIES.
