100WF ANNUAL HONG KONG GALA - THIS FUNDRAISING EVENT IN HONG KONG PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR 100WF'S MEMBERS AND THE FINANCE INDUSTRY TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY. IN 2019, 100WF SUPPORTED THE WOMEN'S FOUNDATION (TWF) AND THE HONG KONG AWARD FOR YOUNG PEOPLE (AYP). TWF IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN HONG KONG BY CONDUCTING RESEARCH, RUNNING INNOVATIVE AND IMPACTFUL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND ENGAGING IN EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY IN THE PURSUIT OF (1) CHALLENGING GENDER STEREOTYPES (2) EMPOWERING WOMEN IN POVERTY TO ACHIEVE A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE (3) GROWING THE NUMBER OF WOMEN IN DECISION-MAKING AND LEADERSHIP POSITIONS. AWF IS A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES YOUNG PEOPLE (AGES 14-24) WITH CHANCES OF FACING CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO UTILIZE THEIR LEISURE TIME IN A CONSTRUCTIVE WAY, TO SET AND ACHIEVE PERSONAL GOALS AND TO KNOOW MORE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR COMMUNITY THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING. PROCEEDS RAISED FROM THE GALA WENT TO THESE CHARITABLE CAUSES.
NEXTGEN. 100WF REACHES, INSPIRES, AND SUPPORTS EARLY-CAREER WOMEN WHO ARE THE FINANCE INDUSTRY'S LEADERSHIP PIPELINE BY:ENCOURAGING FEMALE STUDENTS TO LOOK FAVORABLY AT CAREERS IN FINANCE AND INVESTMENTS, CREATING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND ACCESS POINTS FOR THEM TO JOIN THE INDUSTRY, ENABLING ONGOING PEER NETWORKS FOR EARLY-CAREER WOMEN, & PRESENTING GREATER VISIBILITY OF FEMALE ROLE MODELS. OUR NEXTGEN GROUPS FOCUS ON MEMBERS WITH 10 OR FEWER YEARS IN THE FINANCE INDUSTRY - THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERSHIP. THESE GROUPS HOST NETWORKING AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING A COMMUNITY OF STRONG YOUNG WOMEN WHO WILL SUPPORT EACH OTHER THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS. 100WF HAS 7,000 + MEMBERS IN OUR NEXTGEN COHORT AND HOLDS IN-PERSON NEXTGEN PROGRAMMING IN 10 OF OUR 100WF LOCATIONS. ONE STAFF MEMBER IS FULLY DEDICATED TO ADMINISTERING THIS PROGRAM, SUPPORTED BY ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER ON A PART-TIME BASIS AND SUPPORTING VOLUNTEERS. THERE WERE 54 NEXTGEN EVENTS IN 2019, ATTENDED BY 2,000+ ATTENDEES.
