Amend's mission is to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions to reduce the incidence of road traffic injury among the most vulnerable road users in Africa today while working to help create an environment for long-term, sustainable injury reduction.
In 2019 we furthered those aims via: the implementation of our proven, lifesaving school- area infrastructure improvement program at five schools in Senegal, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Malawi; advocacy for 30 km/h speed zones around schools in 10 countries in Africa; commercial motorcycle rider training in Mozambique; road safety education to tens of thousands of children in five countries across Africa; and more.
