Organizations Filed Purposes:
Art Omi is guided by the principle that artistic expression is a vehicle that transcends economic, political and cultural boundaries. By inviting a synergistic mix of artists, writers, musicians and dancers from all over the world, the Organization seeks to bring this vision to reality.
International Artists Residency Program - Three week residency program for visual artists in upstate NY. Organization provides artists with a studio, living quarters and meals at no cost to the artists. During the program there are workshops with a critic-in-residence, visits by gallerists, critics, curators and other artists. Evenings offer lectures, slide presentations and panel discussions. At the end of the program, there is an Open Day where the general public is invited to visit. Through the residency program, awards are presented every two years to under-recognized artists of outstanding merit.
International Writers Residency Program - one week to two month residencies are available for 30 - 40 writers 10 at any given time. Guests from the New York publishing community are invited for dinner and discussion. The general public is invited to meet the writers and hear them read their works at series of readings, both upstate NY and in New York City.
The Fields Sculpture Park - encompasses approximately 400 acres of farmland, or which 100 acres are dotted with internationally recognized contemporary sculpture. The Fields mission is to expand the experience of what contemporary art viewed in a natural environment can be. The Fields also offers indoor exhibitions in the Visitors Center
