Sri Lalitha Samajam school is an all glrls school founded in 1982. Over the years, disadvantaged children of surrounding villages have been educated at the school, leading to todays enrollment of 300 girls. Although the state government syllabus is followed the school ensures that young girls also develop life skills outside the classroom. These include, but are not limited to needlework, handwork, gardening, yoga, and medication, as well as various sports activities. The high school serves children with disabilities, such as children with hearing, visual and physicsal handicaps and impairments. Sri Lalitha is completely dependent upon donations as the students lack the means to fully pay for the cost of their education. Over the past year, the school was equipped with a library, labs and computers, all of which required funding. Asia Initiatives grant has assisted in the purchase of this equipment.

Deendayal Bahu Uddeshiya Prasarak Mandal - Asia Initiatives is supporting training of 500 women farmers to follow organic farming practices. This not only has environmental advantages but is of direct benefit to farmers on account of improved soil fertility, increase health benefits to growers, reduction of input cost, obtaining higher prices for produce and attaining significant higher yields.

Shohratgarh Environmental Society - 200 women are being trained in poultry farming in Siddhartnagar, India. This will not only provide them with an alternative livelihood to support their family income but also improve nutrition for themselves and their families through the chickens they raise. Women will also be trained in micro-business skills such as record keeping, setting aside savings for contingencies and organizing themselves into a cooperative to bargain for higher prices.
