Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CHURCHILL SCHOOL AND CENTER, A K-12 COEDUCATIONAL COLLEGE PREPARATORY DAY SCHOOL, IS DEDICATED TO WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH STUDENTS, EDUCATORS, AND FAMILIES TO HELP CHILDREN WITH LANGUAGE-BASED LEARNING DISABILITIES REALIZE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. BY BUILDING UPON THEIR STRENGTHS, WE PROVIDE A RIGOROUS PROGRAM THAT TEACHES CHILDREN PERSEVERANCE, RESILIENCE, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-AWARENESS AND SELF-ADVOCACY. WE PREPARE OUR CHILDREN TO BECOME COURAGEOUS, CONFIDENT, PRODUCTIVE, AND CARING PEOPLE WHO WILL EMBRACE THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES OF THE 21ST CENTURY. CHURCHILL SCHOOL - ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROVIDES A SUPPORTIVE, STRUCTURED ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO EXPAND THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND USE THEIR STRENGTHS WHILE DEVELOPING THEIR READING, WRITING, MATH, SOCIAL, AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS. STUDENTS LEARN TO ACCEPT AND UNDERSTAND THEIR LEARNING DISABILITIES, BECOME SELF-ADVOCATES, AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN LEARNING. THE CHURCHILL MIDDLE SCHOOL PROVIDES A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE, AND THEIR ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE WHILE DEVELOPING THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL AND STUDY SKILLS IN PREPARATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL. IN THIS SETTING, DESIGNED FOR THE NEEDS OF THE EARLY ADOLESCENT, STUDENTS FEEL COMFORTABLE EXPLORING THEIR PERSONAL IDENTITIES AND BECOME INCREASINGLY INDEPENDENT. THE CHURCHILL HIGH SCHOOL OFFERS ITS STUDENTS A RICH AND VARIED PROGRAM THAT CLOSELY RESEMBLES A MAINSTREAM HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE WHILE PROVIDING INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPING COMPENSATORY LEARNING STRATEGIES, ORGANIZATIONAL AND STUDY SKILLS, AND LAYING AN ACADEMIC FOUNDATION IN PREPARATION FOR COLLEGE. THE FOUR YEAR PROGRAM (GRADES 9-12) ENABLES STUDENTS TO OBTAIN EITHER A NEW YORK STATE REGENTS OR A LOCAL DIPLOMA BY COMPLETING COURSE, TESTING, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.
