To build A MOVEMENT OF DIVERSE, UPWARDLY MOBILE COLLEGE GRADuates OVERCOMING UNDEREMPLOYMENT THROUGH DIGITAL SKILLS AND PEER CONNECTIONS.
COOP has provided 10,000 hours of coaching and mentoring since fall 2015. That represents a 100-hour "cohort captain" commitment, repeated 100 times in just over two years. COOP's alumni captains are the clearest manifestation of our :pay-it-forward" ethos, and their joint 10,000-hour investment hints at the serious potential of near-peer coaching. This represents COOP's model of impact. OUTCOMES: COOP has provided service to over 1,200 individuals in our program, with 4/5 of them achieving full employment within 6 months of the completion of the program. UPWARD MOBILITY: FULL-TIME ALUMNI EARN $45K IN YEAR ONE (ROUGHLY 3X PRE-PROGRAM AVG), $54K IN YEAR TWO, ALMOST $70K IN YEAR THREE (2X AVG INCOME OF CUNY PEER GROUP) and at four or more years, we see the average COOPer earning greater than $75k annually. FORWARD-ON-INVESTMENT: By focusing our work on a pay-it-forward model, COOP maintains an incredibly low cost-per-outcome ratio of $4,900 per participant.
