CUE ART FOUNDATION ("CUE") IS A VISUAL ARTS CENTER DEDICATED TO CREATING ESSENTIAL CAREER AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNDER-RECOGNIZED AND EMERGING ARTISTS OF ALL AGES. THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, ARTS EDUCATION, AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS, CUE PROVIDES ARTISTS, WRITERS, AND AUDIENCES WITH SUSTAINING, MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES AND RESOURCES. CUE CARRIES OUT ITS MISSION THROUGH ITS CORE PROGRAMS, WHICH INCLUDE SOLO EXHIBITIONS FOR EMERGING AND UNDER-RECOGNIZED ARTISTS; AN ANNUAL FELLOWSHIP FOR AN EMERGING CURATOR, MENTORSHIP AND PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMERGING WRITERS; PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS FOR PRACTICING ARTISTS; AND ARTS EDUCATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

EXHIBITIONS PROGRAM: CUE'S EXHIBITION PROGRAM PRESENTS NEW AND EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG WORK BY EMERGING AND UNDER-RECOGNIZED ARTISTS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, WHILE PROVIDING THESE ARTISTS WITH EXPOSURE AND RESOURCES TO HELP THEM FORWARD THEIR ARTISTIC CAREER. CUE CURRENTLY EXHIBITS 5 ARTISTS IN SOLO EXHIBITIONS, WHICH ARE CURATED BY WELL-KNOWN ARTISTIC INDIVIDUALS WHO HELP THE ARTISTS SELECT THEIR WORK FOR THE EXHIBITION. 2 OF THESE 5 EXHIBITIONS ARE SELECTED THROUGH AN OPEN CALL PROCESS. CUE ALSO PRESENTS ONE GROUP EXHIBITION PER YEAR SELECTED VIA AN OPEN CALL PROCESS. CUE PUBLISHES A FULL-COLOR CATALOGUE FOR EACH EXHIBITION, WHICH IS OFFERED FOR FREE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. APPROXIMATELY 5,000 PEOPLE VISIT THE EXHIBITION PROGRAM ANNUALLY, WITH AN ADDITIONAL 59,700 ON LINE VISITORS.
MEETING ARTISTS' NEEDS (MAN): IS A SERIES OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS AND CRITICAL DISCOURSE PANELS AND DISCUSSIONS THAT PROVIDE EMERGING PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND ARTS WORKERS OF ALL AGES WITH A SET OF DURABLE ARTS MANAGEMENT SKILLS AS WELL AS INSIGHT INTO PRESSING TOPICS IN THE FIELD. IT IS DESIGNED TO COMPLEMENT THE FINE ARTS TRAINING THAT MOST RECEIVE IN ACADEMIC ARTS PROGRAMS, OR PROVIDE TRAINING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH SUCH ACADEMIC PROGRAMS. CUE'S MAN PROGRAMMING INTRODUCES PARTICIPANTS TO A HOST OF PROFESSIONALS INVOLVED IN THE ART WORLD, FROM DEALERS AND CRITICS TO THE ACCOUNTANTS AND DESIGNERS, EACH OF WHOM SHARE THEIR EXPERTISE AND INSIGHTS ON AN INTERACTIVE BASIS. THE PROGRAM IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR NOMINAL FEE AND IS ALMOST ALWAYS FREE. THE PROGRAM SERVED 480 PARTICIPANTS IN 2019.
CUE TEEN COLLECTIVE: THE CUE TEEN COLLECTIVE IS A FREE, YEAR-LONG AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR NYC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN EXPLORING CAREERS IN THE FINE ARTS. PARTICIPANTS MEET ON THURSDAY AFTERNOONS FROM OCTOBER THROUGH MAY TO INVESTIGATE THE CONTEMPORARY ART WORLD, DEVELOP PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, AND PRODUCE ARTWORK FOR A GROUP EXHIBITION IN CUE'S GALLERY SPACE. DURING TALKS WITH ARTISTS AND CURATORS, TRIPS TO GALLERY AND MUSEUM SHOWS, VISITS TO ART FAIRS, AND HANDS-ON STUDIO SESSIONS, STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS OF WORKING ARTS PROFESSIONALS ABOUT THEIR CAREERS AND PRACTICES, LEARNING ABOUT VARIOUS APPROACHES TO A CAREERS IN THE ARTS.IN THE SPRING, STUDENTS PRESENT ORIGINAL ARTWORK PRODUCED OVER THE COURSE OF THE PROGRAM, ACCOMPANIED BY A FULL-COLOR CATALOGUE. THE PROGRAM HOSTS APPROXIMATELY 23 CLASS SESSIONS PER YEAR WITH 20-25 PARTICIPANTS AND TWO TEACHERS.
