We aim to increase empathy and open-mindedness by illuminating nuanced perspectives and unspoken truths behind the salient issues of our time. By bringing together artistic teams with non-arts partners from the outset, and merging seasoned theatre-goers with new audiences, En Garde Arts sparks dialogue among people not normally in conversation, both in New York and beyond.
En Garde Arts develops theatrical productions from the inception of an idea through to opening night, assembling diverse and interdisciplinary artistic teams to create immersive theatrical experiences that explore the salient social issues of our time. In parallel with the creative development of a project, En Garde develops relationships with non-arts partners to ensure that our messages reach across boundaries to spark conversation and build community. Exploring new forms is at the center of all our work, whether experiential, site-specific or the use of media, En Garde Arts delves into the changing dynamic of theatrical storytelling in the 21st century.
