Dignity Workshops for Children and Young People: Beyond the events and social media campaign on Global Dignity Day, more of our Global Dignity Country Chapters continued to move their work with young people to year-round workshops and training events. The Home Office organized several webinars to support Global Dignity Leaders in designing their strategies for impact and taking our "Teaching Dignity" initiative into their communities and countries. Together with activities organized on Global Dignity Day 2019, we reached over 1,134,071 children and young people through our Dignity Workshops and activities.
We organized an international Global Dignity Day on October 16, 2019 in more than 30 countries in order to put a spotlight on, and encourage more, dignity. 198,850 young people participated around the world. Events were held in classrooms and school assemblies, with community-based youth groups and in refugee camps with children as young 5 and into their late 20's. The goal of the dignity workshops is to help young people get in touch with their own self-worth and potential, as well as to treat others - no matter how different they may be - with dignity and kindness. Complementary social media outreach on Global Dignity Day significantly increased our reach beyond the nearly 200,000 young people engaged in in-person workshops and events.
Dignity in the Workplace Training Initiative: We continued to design an "introduction to dignity" online training module in partnership with the global consulting firm AlixPartners through the Head of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion division in London. Members were identified for a Dignity in the Workplace design committee.
