The Little Opera Theatre of NY (LOTNY) produced the New York premiere of Benjamin Britten's opera, "Owen Wingrave", based on a story by Henry James, with libretto by Myfanwy Piper, at GK ArtsCenter, 29 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY, from May 9-12, 2019. This production was double cast and employed sixteen singers, four actors, four boy sopranos, a thirteen piece chamber orchestra, a creative team of eighteen, and a full stage crew. "Owen Wingrave" received two invited dress rehearsals and four public performances, which were part of the 4th Annual New York Opera Fest. LOTNY produced "Past and Present: Scenes from American Operas". This one day concert was presented free to the public and outdoors on June 22 at Governor's Island, Nolan Park, NYC. LOTNY served as lead producer and invited collaborating artists from Bronx Opera, and Operamission. For the concert, LOTNY presented scenes from "Better Gods", a new American opera by Luna Pearl Wolf and Caitlin Vincent, and employed four soloists and a pianist. "Past and Present" was also part of the 4th Annual New York Opera Fest. LOTNY commissioned a new English translation of Mozart's "II Re Pastore" from Mark Herman & Ronnie Apter, for production in the FY20 season.
