Network SuccessIn the wake of COVID-19 and school closures, Network Success communicated our resource Mouse Open Projects, offered free upgrades to Spark members and waived the fee for Full membership. To support the transition from the NS team onboarding sessions were created in video format, in both English and Spanish. In preparation for SYEP, now SummerBridge,relationships with CAMBA, the Wildlife Conservation Society and Henry Street Settlement Membership went from 716 sites in Q2 to 1055 in Q4, students accounts from 8,758 in Q2 to 14, 870 in Q4, and educator accounts rose from 885 last quarter to 915 this quarter.Educator Learning EventsWe continued accepting educators to our two cohorts for this years Pathfinders Summer Institute: Scratch Creative Computing and Mouse Video Creator. Mouse also held virtual trainings for the NYC CS4ALL program on Scratch Creative Computing and the Exploring Computer Science curriculums in May. Code.org CS Fundamentals First virtual workshop held with 10 participants. New model will allow for easier scaling of the PD program.Youth Learning EventsEmoti-Con transitioned into a virtual project fair, and increased our impact significantly, with a 35% increase in student participation,and 47% in projects and increase from FY19.Design LeagueDesign League had to move to remote learning due to Covid-19. Starting in mid march, the students were forced to abandon their physical projects and pivot to creating digital prototypes. Despite these challenges, Design League Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn submitted three great projects to the first ever virtual Emoti-Con NYC Youth Media and Technology Challenge. All of our Design Leagues, from NYC, NJ to MN had some students attend some of the Design League Career AMAs, and students were given a playlist of micro projects and other activities to be done at their own pace if they are able.Mouse CreateContent DevelopmentPhase 2 of the Per Scholas project in progress is being planned. The early stages of iCT/STEM+C teacher-focused STEM courses are being drafted (30 projects), and a new open projects platform based on Mouse Create API to be used for deployment. For Lehman Scratch Creative Computing, the SCC course is being adapted for Adult learners in the university setting. MicroProjects were launched on Mouse Create and Mouse Open Projects due to school closuresMouse Create Platform DevelopmentMouse Create had a SPA Release on 6/9, powered by Vue.js applications, will help us streamline future updates to Mouse Create. On 6/17 Craft CMS was updated. On 6/30, a modified version of the Mouse Open Projects site was created to host iCT projects that educators will use for professional development.
