NEW CLASSROOMS INNOVATION PARTNERS (NEW CLASSROOMS) IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT DESIGNS AND IMPLEMENTS INNOVATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL SCHOOL MODELS THAT REIMAGINE THE USE OF TIME, TALENT, TECHNOLOGY, AND PHYSICAL SPACE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A PERSONALIZED LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY STUDENT EVERY DAY. NEW CLASSROOMS' FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND TECHNOLOGY DRAWS FROM TENS OF THOUSANDS OF HIGH-QUALITY LESSONS TO CREATE A CUSTOMIZED AND DYNAMIC CURRICULUM FOR EACH STUDENT EACH DAY. OUR FLAGSHIP INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL, TEACH TO ONE: MATH, INTEGRATES TEACHER-LED, COLLABORATIVE, AND INDEPENDENT INSTRUCTION IN WAYS THAT ENABLE STUDENTS TO LEARN SKILLS AND APPLY THEM IN REAL-WORLD CONTEXTS. TEACH TO ONE: MATH GREW OUT OF A NEW YORK CITY PILOT PROGRAM CALLED SCHOOL OF ONE, WHICH TIME MAGAZINE NAMED ONE OF THE "BEST INVENTIONS OF 2009."
TEACH TO ONE: MATH NEW CLASSROOMS' FLAGSHIP PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL, TEACH TO ONE: MATH EMPOWERS TEACHERS TO PERSONALIZE LEARNING FOR EACH AND EVERY STUDENT. THE MODEL IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS IN FIFTH THROUGH ELEVENTH GRADES. NEW CLASSROOMS PARTNERS WITH EXISTING SCHOOLS (PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND CHARTER) TO REPLACE THEIR TRADITIONAL TEXTBOOK-BASED MATH PROGRAM WITH TEACH TO ONE: MATH. TEACH TO ONE: MATH WAS IMPLEMENTED IN DOZENS OF SCHOOLS FOR THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS DURING THE 2019 - 2020 SCHOOL YEAR. [SEE CONTINUATION ON SCHEDULE O] MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT THE TEACH TO ONE: MATH PROGRAM DURING THE REPORTING PERIOD INCLUDED: - HELPING SCHOOLS REDESIGN THE CLASSROOM TO SUPPORT PERSONALIZED EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS.- CREATING AND REFINING A SKILLS MAP ALIGNED TO COLLEGE AND CAREER READY STANDARDS WHICH PROVIDES THE ACADEMIC FRAMEWORK FOR THE TEACH TO ONE: MATH MODEL. - SCREENING, SOURCING, AND CREATING OVER 8,000 DIGITAL AND TEACHER-LED LESSONS FROM OVER 130 EDUCATION PRODUCTS SO THAT STUDENTS EXPERIENCE A VARIETY OF WAYS TO LEARN AND MASTER SKILLS.- GENERATING DAILY PERSONALIZED SCHEDULES FOR APPROXIMATELY 10,000 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS EACH DAY SO THAT EVERY STUDENT CAN LEARN AT HIS OR HER OWN PACE IN WAYS BEST SUITED FOR THEM. - PROVIDING DAILY ON-SITE AND CENTRAL OPERATIONAL AND INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TO ALL SCHOOL PARTNERS OPERATING TEACH TO ONE: MATH FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR. NEW CLASSROOMS HAS DEVELOPED A POLICY AGENDA FOCUSED ON ACCOMPLISHING TWO CORE OBJECTIVES:-REMOVING POLICY BARRIERS THAT INHIBIT THE DEVELOPMENT AND ADOPTION OF INNOVATIVE LEARNING MODELS SUCH AS TEACH TO ONE: MATH.-DEVELOPING WHITE PAPERS, ISSUING BRIEFS, AND PROMOTING HELPFUL STATE POLICIES WITH ADVOCACY GROUPS AND SEAS THAT CAN ACCELERATE THE DEVELOPMENT AND ADOPTION OF INNOVATIVE LEARNING MODELS, LIKE TEACH TO ONE: MATH. MEASURING IMPACT: TO MEASURE WHETHER WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ACCELERATED STUDENT LEARNING SO THAT STUDENTS ARE BETTER PREPARED FOR ADVANCED HIGH SCHOOL MATH, NEW CLASSROOMS USES THE MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS (MAP), AN ADAPTIVE ONLINE EXAM CREATED BY THE NORTHWEST EVALUATION ASSOCIATION (NWEA). A STUDY CONDUCTED BY MARGRADY RESEARCH FOUND THAT CONSISTENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS USING TTO FOR THREE YEARS SAW 23 PERCENT GREATER GAINS THAN STUDENTS NATIONALLY, AS MEASURED BY THE NORTHWEST EVALUATION ASSOCIATION'S MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS (MAP) TEST. MOREOVER, CONSISTENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS AT SCHOOLS SUBJECT TO EXTERNAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOCUSED ON MAP GROWTH YEARS EXPERIENCED GAINS 53 PERCENT ABOVE THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
