Organizations Filed Purposes: NEW LEADERS, INC.'S MISSION IS TO ENSURE HIGH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY STUDENTS IN POVERTY AND STUDENTS OF COLOR, BY DEVELOPING TRANSFORMATIONAL SCHOOL LEADERS AND ADVANCING THE POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT ALLOW GREAT LEADERS TO SUCCEED.

TO PREPARE EDUCATION LEADERS TO DELIVER BREAKTHROUGH RESULTS IN AMERICA'S HIGHEST-NEED SCHOOLS

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERVICES:NEW LEADERS PROVIDES BEST-IN-CLASS LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT THAT ENSURES ADULT LEADERS IN SCHOOLS ARE SET UP TO PROVIDE ALL STUDENTS WITH CHALLENGING, ENGAGING LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN EVERY CLASSROOM, EVERY DAY, YEAR AFTER YEAR. THESE OFFERINGS CAN BE TARGETED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR PARTNERS WITH MULTIPLE LEADERSHIP AUDIENCES INCLUDING TEACHER LEADERS, INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAMS, ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS, ASPIRING PRINCIPALS, NOVICE OR EXPERIENCED PRINCIPALS, PRINCIPAL SUPERVISORS, AND/OR COHORTS THAT INCLUDE A CROSS-SECTION OF LEADERS FROM WITHIN A SCHOOL, DISTRICT, CHARTER NETWORK, OR STATE. IN SCHOOL YEAR 2019-20, NEW LEADERS EXECUTED PARTNERSHIPS IN 34 SITES NATIONWIDE. THIS PROGRAMMING BROUGHT US INTO 645 SCHOOLS IN 40 PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND 43 CHARTER SCHOOLS IN 11 CHARTER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONS. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERVICES BUILD ON OUR PARTNERS' STRENGTHS AND ARE RESPONSIVE TO OUR PARTNERS' NEEDS, BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF PARTICIPATING LEADERS AS WELL AS THE SCHOOLS AND SYSTEMS WHERE THEY WORK. THESE OFFERINGS DRAW ON OUR PROVEN CONTENT, THE TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK, AND USE EVIDENCE-BASED DELIVERY MODELS TO DEVELOP LEADERS THAT IMPROVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR STUDENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. IN 2019-20, WE REACHED 2,470 LEADERS THAT SERVED AN ESTIMATED 377,450 STUDENTS.

EMERGING LEADERS (EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM):EMERGING LEADERS PROVIDES ON-THE-JOB LEADERSHIP TRAINING THAT PREPARES ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS, COACHES, AND TEACHER LEADERS TO ELEVATE INSTRUCTION AND RAISE ACHIEVEMENT ACROSS MULTIPLE CLASSROOMS. THE PROGRAM STRENGTHENS LEADERSHIP CAPACITY ACROSS ENTIRE DISTRICTS AND CHARTER NETWORKS, BUILDING A PIPELINE OF WELL-PREPARED FUTURE SCHOOL LEADERS AND ENSURING THAT TEACHER LEADERS AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS MASTER ESSENTIAL ADULT AND INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS NEEDED TO GUIDE COLLEAGUES AND THEIR STUDENTS TO EXCELLENCE. IN THE 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR, 105 EDUCATORS COMPLETED EMERGING LEADERS IN SIX SITES. EMERGING LEADERS ALSO SERVES AS AN ADMISSION PATHWAY TO NEW LEADERS' ASPIRING PRINCIPALS PROGRAM.

ASPIRING PRINCIPALS (RESIDENCY AND INDUCTION): THE CORE OF NEW LEADERS' ASPIRING PRINCIPALS IS A YEAR-LONG, FULL-TIME, PAID RESIDENCY IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL WHERE THE PARTICIPANT WORKS ALONGSIDE A MENTOR PRINCIPAL. SIMULTANEOUSLY, PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE ONGOING TRAINING FROM NEW LEADERS THROUGH A SUMMER INSTITUTE AND REGULAR SEMINARS AND TRAINING SESSIONS. THEY ALSO RECEIVE 1-2 YEARS OF ADDITIONAL TRAINING, COACHING, AND INDUCTION SUPPORT ONCE THEY TAKE THE HELM OF THEIR OWN SCHOOL. PARTICIPANTS UNDERGO AN INTENSIVE RECRUITMENT AND ADMISSIONS PROCESS IN ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED OR ARE REVIEWED FOR ADMISSION AS PART OF THEIR PARTICIPATION IN NEW LEADERS' EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM. THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF THE RESIDENCY IS TO PREPARE PARTICIPANTS TO BECOME HIGHLY EFFECTIVE SCHOOL LEADERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS THAT LEAD WITH INSTRUCTIONAL EXCELLENCE AND EQUITY. IN 2019-20, NEW LEADERS DELIVERED RIGOROUS CURRICULUM, TRAINING, AND SUPPORT EXPERIENCES TO NINE PROGRAM COMPLETERS IN ONE SITE. PRINCIPAL INDUCTION SUPPORTS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE ASPIRING PRINCIPALS PROGRAM AND ACCEPT LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
