Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE NEW YORK COUNCIL, NAVY LEAGUE OF UNITED STATES, INC. THIS PURPOSE IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH: (I) EDUCATION OF NATIONAL LEADERS AND THE NATION OF THE IMPORTANCE OF STRONG SEA SERVICES; (II) SUPPORT OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE SEA SERVICES, INCLUDING UNITS, INDIVIDUAL PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES; AND (III) DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS THROUGH YOUTH PROGRAMS.

EDUCATIONAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION CITIZENS IN SUPPORT OF THE SEA SERVICES. US NAVY, US MARINE CORPS, US COAST GUARD AND THE U.S. FLAG MERCHANT MARINE.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO UNITS AND INDIVIDUAL PERSONNEL OF THE SEA SERVICES AND THEIR FAMILIES. 2019 PROGRAMMING INCLUDED: AWARDS TO SAILORS OF THE QUARTER/YEAR FOR USS NY, USCG STATION NY, USCG SECTOR NY, USCG MSST NY AND NAVAL RECRUITING DISTRICT NY; HOSTING OF EVENTS DURING FLEET WEEK NEW YORK; ANNUAL RECOGNITION OF NEWLY COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AT SUNY MARITIME, FORDHAM UNIV AND USMMA; SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS AT LOCAL AND VISITING USCG, NAVY AND MARINE CORPS COMMANDS. EXPENSES TOTALED $121,894 WITH A NET OF -$110,880 AFTER REVENUES.

THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS SEVERAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES THAT EXPOSE LOCAL YOUTH TO CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY AND THE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES OF THE SEA SERVICES. 2019 PROGRAMMING INCLUDED: FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF FOUR JROTC UNITS, STIPENDS RECOGNIZING OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION OF INDIVIDUAL JROTC MEMBERS, FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF LOCAL NAVAL SEA CADET AND YOUNG MARINES UNITS. EXPENSES (INCLUDING STIPENDS AND DONATIONS) TOTALED $67,101, WITH ZERO REVENUE.

THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS EVENTS AND RUNS PROGRAMS FOR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO FURTHER OUR MISSION OF EDUCATING THE PUBLIC AND ELECTED OFFICIALS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SEA SERVICES. 2019 PROGRAMMING INCLUDED: A SERIES OF NATIONAL SECURITY BRIEFINGS, ANNUAL AWARD AND RECOGNITION PROGRAM FOR CONTRIBUTION TO AMERICAN MARITIME HISTORY LITERATURE, AND AN EVENT IN SUPPORT OF THE COAST GUARD ART PROGRAM.
