Our mission is to stimulate job creation and sustainable economic development in the Greater New York City Area by providing pro-bono consulting services to local small business entrepreneurs from under-resourced communities.
NYPACE was formed in 2001 to provide pro-bono consulting advice to local entrepreneurs in under-resourced and disadvantaged communities of New York City. NYPACE provides a unique opportunity both for entrepreneurs who aspire to realize a strategic vision as well as for volunteers who seek to affect change through a community service context. The NYPACE program strives not only to support the development of community based entrepreneurs, but also to engender an open dialog between two disparate communities
In 2018 NYPACE provided pro bono consulting services to more than 30 entrepreneurs from underrepresented, under-resourced communities of New York City. We help entrepreneurs improve their businesses by assisting in 3 vital areas: 1. Market research, including analyzing size of market, identifying current and potential competitors, and uncovering blind spots; 2. Financial modeling, including addressing capital needs, cash flow projections, break-even analysis, and pricing strategy; 3. Marketing strategy, including developing the value proposition and sales pitch, and optimizing marketing channels. We engaged over 90 volunteer advisors in our program representing more than 10 of the leading professional firms of NYC, and conducted 6 Information Sessions and 2 Advisor Networking Socials.
