The mission of the Partnership for Inner-City Education is to develop outstanding Catholic elementary schools that provide low-income students with the academic preparation, values and skills they need to break the cycle of poverty and lead fulfilling, productive lives. The Partnership for Inner-City Education supports the inner-city schools of the Archdiocese of New York in four main areas: tuition scholarship for disadvantaged students; programmatic and operational support; administrative, educational and operational services and capital repair grants to a set of six inner-city schools. The Partnership for Inner-City Education was created to provide a stable and longer-term source of support for inner-city schools and is operated independently from the Archdiocese of New York.

The Partnership provides administrative, educational and operational services to a set of six, inner-city pre-k to 8th grade schools governed by the Archdiocese of New York. The Partnership provides both human and financial resources to improve the academic achievement levels at these schools to benefit all the students that attend them and help lift students out of poverty. Additionally, scholarships are provided to approximately 1,640 students attending these schools. The Partnership also funds capital improvements made to the school buildings.

Grants made to elementary and high schools outside the six school network for scholarships, academic and enrichment programs and general operating support.
