Education & promotion of networking opportunities in real estate management for minorities
Launched two 10-week educational/networking programs in Chicago and New York City that were halted due to the pandemic. Switched to providing some real estate education virtual webinars to that cohort of 60 students. Planned and executed a new 8-week virtual academy in the fall that incorporated the suspended Chicago and NYC classes and attracted another 120 students from throughout the U.S. Published annual newsletter to service the alumni community. Began publication of a monthly bulletin for alumni, sponsors, and other stakeholders. Facilitated the attendance of several REAP alumni at Product Council meetings of the Urban Land Institute. Established a scholarship fund in honor of a deceased board member.
In concert with 2 experts in the field of community development finance established a new initiative to facilitate the entry of minority professionals in that field. Marketed the program to REAP alumni and attracted over 200 applications for an initial cohort of 15 internships, which later expanded to 22. Arranged for funding of a coordinator and publicist to administer the program. Arranged for sponsorship support. Publicized the program to the industry.
