The mission of INCLUDEnyc is to enhance the quality of life and promote positive outcomes for children and youth, birth through age 26, with disabilities, their parents and families throughout New York City.
INCLUDEnycs programming is designed to assist young people with any disability and their families. Below are our 2019 accomplishments in our core service areas.PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT Help Line: Our Help Line operates year-round delivering individualized, in-depth direct assistance in English and Spanish, with interpretation available in over 200 languages. Workshops and Trainings: INCLUDEnyc workshops and trainings instruct parents, family members, professionals, and young adults on a host of disability topics in-person and remotely.YOUTH AND TRANSITION SERVICESProject Possibility: This program brings intensive, direct support to help young adults (age 16-26) achieve educational, employment, and community involvement goals.Bridges: These group learning opportunities help youth develop life skills in four core areas key to independent living: travel expertise, networking and interview skills, workplace communications, and financial literacy.COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTCommunications:Multi-lingual Information: We provide the most up-to-date disability tip sheets, contact sheets, videos, and web resource links in English on INCLUDEnyc.org, and on our the Spanish-language website, INCLUYEnyc.org.Digital Tools and Social Media: INCLUDEnycs weekly Navigator and monthly Spanish-language Navegador news and event aggregates are sent to more than 25,000 individuals per issue. We actively engage our online community through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube. Annual Events:INCLUDEnyc Fair: The INCLUDEnyc Fair is New York Citys largest resource fair of educational, recreational, and service program providers for young people with disabilities.Outdoors for Autism: Outdoors for Autism hosts school-aged children for an afternoon in the park to experience sensory-sensitive, interactive arts and recreational activities.College Is Possible: This college admissions evening provides parents and students the opportunity to tour a college campus, and speak with college representatives, service providers, and student advocates.
