TO PROVIDE BENEFITS TO MEMBERS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS ASSISTING THEM IN CASE OF SICKNESS, UNEMPLOYMENT, RETIREMENT, DEATH OR OTHER NEED. THIS IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR BYLAWS, AN ESTABLISHED SYSTEM FOR THE PAYMENT OF SUCH BENEFITS. TO CONDUCT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO CULTIVATE THE SOCIAL AND FRATERNAL FEELING AMONG MEMBERS. TO CONDUCT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO PROMOTE THE PRACTICE OF THE FRENCH CULINARY ARTS AND THE USE OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN THE CULINARY PROFESSION. TO PROVIDE MENTORSHIP, SUPPORT AND ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT TO THE CULINARIAN'S' HOME FOUNDATION AND THE JULES WEBER FOUNDATION.
ASSISTING MEMBERS BY FOSTERING A SENSE OF FRATERNITY AMONG ITS COLLEAGUES AND PROMOTING THE GOODWILL AND CAMARADERIE BY MENTORING AND CONNECTING TO OTHER CHEFS IN THE FRENCH CULINARY FIELD TO MAINTAIN OUR FRENCH HERITAGE.
PROVIDE BENEFITS TO MEMBERS OR THEIR DEPENDENTS TO ASSIST THEM IN CASE OF SICKNESS, DISTRESS, UNEMPLOYMENT, RETIREMENT, DEATH OR OTHER NEED, IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN ESTABLISHED SYSTEM FOR PAYMENT OF BENEFITS. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020 THE ORGANIZATION MADE QUARTERLY RETIREMENT PAYMENTS TO APPROXIMATELY 144 MEMBERS. FIVE PAYMENTS OF SICKNESS BENEFITS WERE PAID TO MEMBERS AND THE SOCIETE PAID DEATH BENEFITS TO THE BENEFICIARIES OF TWO DECEASED MEMBERS.
CONDUCT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO CULTIVATE THE SOCIAL AND FRATERNAL FEELING AMONG MEMBERS. DUE TO COVID-19, THE SOCIETE'S 2020 154TH ANNUAL DINNER DANCE, WHICH WAS TO BE HELD ON APRIL 26, 2020 AT THE YALE CLUB OF NEW YORK, WAS CANCELLED. PRIOR YEAR ANNUAL DINNER DANCE, ON APRIL 7, 2019, IT WAS HELD AT TAVERN ON THE GREEN AND ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 150 MEMBERS, NON-MEMBERS, AND GUESTS.THE SOCIETE'S CHAPTERS EACH HELD AN ANNUAL MEETING ALONG WITH EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS IN THEIR GEOGRAPHIC AREA. THE NEWSLETTER ISSUES PUBLISHED DURING THE YEAR, INFORMED MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETE ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS PROVIDING INFORMATION RELATED TO THE CULINARY FIELD. THE SOCIETE PARTICIPATED IN MANY PROGRAMS AT ASSOCIATE CULINARY SCHOOLS.
TO PROMOTE THE PRACTICE OF THE FRENCH CULINARY ARTS AND THE USE OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN THE CULINARY PROFESSION. THE SOCIETE PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING FOR THE STUDENTS OF SIX CULINARY SCHOOLS. THE SOCIETE SUPPORTED TWO FRENCH SPEAKING ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR PROGRAMS PROMOTING THE FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, INCLUDING SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF THE FRENCH CONSULATE AND FRENCH CULTURAL CENTERS.
