Organizations Filed Purposes:
To nurture, strengthen, and promote an aesthetically and culturally diverse community of independent theatre artists and theatre companies by producing, presenting and programming new work at the New Ohio Theatre located in Manhattan's West Village.
New Ohio Hosts - Curated rental program for independent theatre companies with similar aesthetic values. During FY 20 we provided curated rental programs for Bridge Production Group, Point-Blank Theatre, Nylon Fusion Theater, The Drama League, and Other Shore Theater.Producers Club - We invited four artists into the New Ohio for three days to test out new work in front of a paying audience. The artists were provided with guaranteed artist fees and tech crew support. The FY 2020 artists were Dennis Yueh-Yeh Li, April Ranger, the team of Nia Farrell and Trevor Latez Hayes, and the team of Sharone Halevy and Joshua William Gelb. Theatre For Young Minds - Program of innovative theatre for young audiences and families. In FY 20 we presented the UP CLOSE Festival, co-produced and curated by Peter Musante and Sara Morgulis. We provided front of house and technical support, as well as a guaranteed artist fee.NY Indie Theatre Film Festival - Film festival showcasing NYC theatre artists branching out into recorded media. The closing night special guest screening was A Very Serious Person, by Charles Busch, who spoke afterward.Archive Residency - Flagship two-year program where we develop and present twocompanies. Our FY 2020 world-premiere presentations were postponed due to COVID-19.Ice Factory - Summer festival of new work. FY 2020 was our 27th year, and the first year as an online festival. Four shows presented over four weeks. We provided online technical and box office support, as well as guaranteed artist fees.
